Binita Baral – theater debut in Telling Tales

Actress Binita Baral is doing a theater play for the first time in her acting career, starting today (December 6) in Theater Village, Lazimpat. The play titled ‘Telling a Tale: Kitchen Dramas’ is about personal stories of Nepali women. In the play, gender inequalities, violence and other serious issues are said to be raised in funny way.

Binita shared a situation of the play in her Facebook profile:

The character played by Binita – Mira says:
I am abused by my husband. Last week when I said I was pregnant, he threw me to the ground and kicked me again and again until I was nearly unconscious. Will you help me to return back to Nepal?

The play runs from Friday to Sunday at Theatre Village, that is opposite to Attic Bar & Restaurant. More details on the poster below:


Rajesh Hamal debuted in a theater in Anup Baral’s Court Martial

For the first time in his acting career the top actor of Nepali movie industry, Rajesh Hamal, has done a theater play. The play titled ‘Court Martial’ has started in Theater Village on Friday, November 22. The first show was done only for the press and will be open for the general public starting Saturday.


The play featuring  Rajesh Hamal, Dayahang Rai, Deeya Maskey, BS Rana, Karma, Subash Thapa and others is directed by Anup Baral. The play is written by an Indian writer, Swadesh Deepak, has been played for more than 4,000 times in four South Asian countries.


The play about ‘a tale about poetic justice’ is a presentation of Actors’ Studio. The play is played at 5:00 from November 23 to December 2 and December 9 to December 22 at Theater Village, Tej Bhawan, Lazimpat, Kathamdu.
