Nepal defeated India and Bangladesh in the recently concluded SAFF Championship.

"The ranking has gone up because of Nepal's performance in the SAFF Championship," says Lalit Krishna Shrestha, spokesperson of All Nepal Football Association and manager of the country's national team.

SAFF Championship title claimer Afghanistan has topped the chart with the ranking 132nd in the World Ranking, followed by Maldives 152nd, India 155th, Nepal 163rd, Bangladesh 166th, Sri Lanka 168th, Pakistan 170th and Bhutan 207th.
