A beautiful model Sagun Shahi was taking dance training in Surkhet when she was selected to be featured in the movie ‘Dhuwani’ during the audition held there. The director Pitembar Pandey is credited for giving her a break in his movie ‘Dhuwani’ last year.

Sagun hadn’t expected she would get a leading role in a movie so fast. After the completion of the movie, Sagun expected to get roles in other movies and moved to Kathmandu. But, Sagun’s debut movie ‘Dhuwani’ flopped and she couldn’t get roles in other movies.

When she couldn’t get any opportunities in movies she it wasn’t easy to cover the cost of living in Kathmandu. It was tough to cover the cost of living in the costly city. She also started dancing in lok-dohori to cover the cost. The profession paid enough to pay the rent and other costs. Apart from dancing she is also featured in numerous music videos.

These days, Sagun is also featured in a television serial ‘Bhadragol’. She however is still waiting for another opportunity to be featured in a movie.

Actress Saujanya Subba featured as a Sherpa in Kusum (Photo Feature)

In an upcoming sherpa movie ‘Kusum’ actress Saujanya Subba is being featured as a Sherpa woman. Saujanya says that the movie is going to be made to promote Sherpa language and culture.

The shooting of ‘Kusum’ has completed in Kathmandu and the team is heading towards Jiri for the remaining shooting. In the movie directed by Sagar Subba, all the artists except Saujanya and Dolma Shrepa are new.

The last movie of actress Saujanya was ‘Bodyguard’, released last year. After that she hasn’t done much movies. The only movie of Saujanya waiting for release is ‘French Love’. Saujanya says that she studies script before committing to a movie and prefers to be featured in clean movies. Apart from being an actress, Saujanya had also worked as an assistant director in ‘My Love’.

Several Nepali celebrities from the Chalchitra Industry participated in the Summer/Spring edition of Trendsetters Fashion Show that took place at Hotel de l’Annapurna poolside in Kathmandu yesterday. Organised by the Vootoo Entertainment, the Fashion show showcased designs from the popular designers including Aira , Astik Designs , Bishwo Gautam , Crossroad Apparel , Gabi , @House Of Fashion, Now, Odhani, Suruchira and Tenzin Tseten Bhutia Creations.

Participating in the Fashion Show were popular celebrities including Namrata Shrestha, Jharana Bajracharya, Malvika Subba, Malina Joshi, Priyanka Karki, Sahana Bajracharya, Reema Biswokarma, Raymon Das Shrestha and few other models.
